Applause, Applause!
The Mom's Association gave out Illini Spirit Awards during the Moms Weekend Kick-off Dinner to two Student Affairs endeavors. These awards went to programs and projects that contribute to the safety, health, development and achievement of Illinois students. McKinley's Relaxation Room at the OASIS received an award for their guided imagery program designed to heal, motivate and relieve stress in students. Another award went to "Girl Powered" - a collaborative program between Campus Rec and Kinesiology, to improve the health of all young women through an intensive study of cultural, environmental and social influences and development of culturally specific nutrition and physical activity programs. |

Assembly Hall Goes Dutch
The Assembly Hall opened its doors in 1963, and remains one of the most unique entertainment venues in the world. But, in an effort to match the experience and programming opportunities available at newer facilities, we are pleased to report that, as of July 1, the Assembly Hall will be co-managed by Student Affairs and the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA). You'll continue to see the same great
entertainment events you've enjoyed in the past, and Star Course will continue to provide the same focus on
student-oriented programming. But with DIA in the mix, there will be
greater attention paid to enhancing our facilities for the future.
Student Affairs is excited to be working with DIA and looks forward to the
coming year with great anticipation – GO ILLINI! |
