• Faculty speaker, Professor Leon Dash, award-winning reporter and journalist
• Learn the words to the "Alma Mater"
Your Resident Advisor (RA) will bring you to Convocation at Assembly Hall and you'll sit with your residence hall floor co-habitants. (If you don't live in University or Private Certified Housing, please meet us at the gates before 11:30am.)
You'll receive your first official University of Illinois t-shirt and that you can wear to Illini sporting events to show your school spirit! Staff will be handing them out just inside the Assembly Hall so be sure to know your size since there won't be time to try one on.
You'll also get a chance to see a U of I trivia presentation, a video introduction with helpful hints from students and watch some of the best professors on campus welcome you in a faculty procession!
NEXT UP: Your RA will help you get from Convocation to the "BBQ Fair" lunch at the east side of Memorial Stadium. While you're eating you'll be treated to Illinois Sights and Sounds where you'll be entertained with some of Illinois' most talented!
