Student Health Benefits

The University provides two ways for students to seek affordable medical services. These are separate but complementary programs paid for by two different fees that are applied to a student's University tuition statement. These health benefits can also be applied to dependents of students and students who are not currently registered at the University.

This section will help explain who is eligible for these services and how to obtain them.

Dependents of insured students
Recent graduates may extend coverage for up to two semesters
Currently insured students who don't plan to enroll the next semester may extend coverage

How to Check If You're Covered

The best way to determine what coverage you have is to check if the Health Service Fee and the UIUC Student Insurance (Student Health Insurance Fee) are on your tuition statement in the beginning of each semester.
